[SARASOTA, FL May 17 2018] Because of Selby Foundation’s $275,000 award The All Star Children’s Foundation is closer to their goal to build a state-of-the-art 5-acre campus that provides children victimized by abuse with a very special place. A place designed to heal, empower & inspire. Selby’s award will help fund a 12,000sq. ft. treatment center on the campus which will also include 6 foster homes, a community center, a playground and a garden. The 12,000 sq. ft. treatment center will house the administration, trauma-focused therapy offices and the research center which is being developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The foundation of the project stems from the latest in brain science research that supports that adverse childhood experiences, if unaddressed, can lead to negative physical, mental, and socio-economic outcomes as adults. Children will receive trauma-informed treatment in a setting where they can thrive, where they can experience unconditional love and where the course of their lives will be forever changed. “We are so appreciative of the faith and commitment Selby Foundation has shown in us.” says All Star Children’s Foundation, Graci & Dennis McGillicuddy. “this award will allow us a unique opportunity to provide trauma based care to children in the foster care system.” The All Star Children’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Sarasota whose mission is to create a safe place for children to heal from the trauma of child abuse. #### For more information, contact Lucia Branton at Lucia@ascf.care
