VENICE, FL: Caldwell Trust Company has reached into its deep bench of professionals to promote two staff members from trust associate to trust officer according to R. G. “Kelly” Caldwell, CEO/president. “Once again we’ve been able to watch our staff members grow, and we’re gratified to see them move up so capably within the company,” he said. The new trust officers are Kimberly Evener and Marci Sweat. Kimberly Evener began her financial career in 2001 in New Jersey while still in high school. She relocated to Florida in 2003 and joined Northern Trust Company in 2004, beginning as a senior teller and departing in 2016 as a trust associate. While with Northern she took two AIB courses (Ethical Issues for Bankers, Principles of Banking) as well as classes for Trust School—Session 1. She joined Caldwell in 2016 and graduated in 2017 from the Florida Bankers Association's three-year program, Florida Trust & Wealth Management School, earning her FBA certification. She is currently working towards the American Bankers Association designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), the recognized standard of excellence for trust and wealth advisors. Marci Sweat began her financial career in 2008 with Northern Trust Company in Sarasota, where she remained for over nine years, departing as officer and account manager on the Wealth Management Advisory Team. While with Northern she attended Northern Trust School as well as three years of the Florida Trust and Florida Graduate Trust & Wealth Management School–Grad I and Grad II, sponsored by Florida Bankers Association, graduating in 2014. She was elected class president during her third year of trust school. She joined Caldwell Trust Company in 2017 and is based in the Venice office. Prior to their move to Florida, Marci and her husband Jim owned a successful real estate company in South Haven, Michigan, which they sold in 2006.
