From Dec. 6 through 23, don’t miss The Players Centre for Performing Arts’ third Wilde Broadway Series show, the fun musical romp All Shook Up, inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley with a book by Joe Dipietro. What happens when you take one great Shakespeare story (Twelfth Night) and every great Elvis Presley song? You have the makings of Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical Theatre heaven. So, “Don’t Be Cruel,” grab that “Hound Dog” and “Love Me Tender,” this holiday season. Because, everyone needs a hunka hunka “Burning Love” for Christmas. Story: A small Midwestern town is thrown into a frenzy with the arrival of Chad, a good-looking, motorcycle-riding roustabout, who rides from town to town with a guitar on his back, blue suede shoes on his feet, and a song in his heart. Repressed by their conservative mayor, the town begins to come alive once more under Chad’s influence. Lovers meet, woo, pursue, and more, all in one zany night that will change the town forever. All Shook Up is a rocking, heartwarming tale about following dreams, opening up to love, and the power of music. Directed by Helen Holliday with help from Stage Manager Alisha Vail, choreography by Brian Finnerty and musical direction by Berry Ayers, costumes by David Walker, lighting design by Ethan Vail and set design by Kyle Ransbottom, this upbeat, crowd pleaser will have you singing right along!
