Sarasota Stories is a community-focussed podcast that broadcasts twice-weekly interviews of Sarasota’s most fascinating people. We believe that communities are strengthened when neighbors listen to each other. The maxim “seek first to understand in order to be understood” is the foundation for everything we do. In fact, we believe that for someone to really understand their community—it’s DNA if you will —then a willingness to listen to each others’ stories is an absolute must. To accomplish this aim, we chose podcasting to allow listeners to hear from local leaders so they have a better appreciation for the incredibly dynamic town we live in. In fact, we believe making this connection is now more important than ever given the large influx of new residents to the area. It is our desire is to help connect our newest neighbors to our community by featuring established, business owners, artists, philanthropists, civic leaders, other key representatives from primary industries. Ultimately, it is our hope our efforts will in some way help strengthen community ties by presenting the best that Sarasota has to offer through the stories that define the town we live in.
