Today, as we continue to deal with ongoing devastation from Covid-19, there is no shortage of people in need, and the first step to getting help is knowing where to find it. Making An Impact is a local 501 (c)(3) charitable nonprofit serving Sarasota and Manatee counties. New and pre-existing systemic inequities not only affect our residents' health, wealth, and well-being but also limits their ability to access essential and affordable resources. We empower others with helpful information to achieve a vision of equitable access to community resources for longer, healthier, and happier lives. Knowing what programs or services exist is the first step towards increasing the likelihood they will be used and ultimately improving our community's overall health and quality of life. Our Guide is:  Lists over 250 nonprofits/organizations offering programs & services  Grouped into 17 essential need service areas for finding information quickly  Color-coded by county area for visualizing location identification  Small and convenient size in a handy 4x 6 spiral-bound book  Simple and user friendly in print or online formats with the organization's name, description, contact information, and a brief description of services  Offers discreet, immediate access with no waiting 24/7/365 promotes self-advocacy  Comprehensive and one of the most up to date resources available  Available online in a searchable web app  Promotes and encourages self-advocacy  Widely distributed and used, with nearly 3000 Guides printed guides in distribution in Sarasota and Manatee counties, and thousands have accessed the guide version online Our resource guide was created by locals for locals to: • complement existing referral resources • address the different ways people seek information • and enhance the quality & quantity of community information available to those in need The Guide is updated regularly and available in print & online.
