TV Home Source selected as finalist at Southeast Building Conference Local Sarasota company is being showcased for their world-class marketing skills Contact Name: Veronica Brandon Miller Contact Email: veronica@vbmadvancement.com Contact Phone Number: 941-807-7321 Established in 2003, TV Home Source, a video marketing company that offers high-end production and creative storytelling to the building industry and other businesses is up for the Excel Award being given by the Florida Home Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council on August 2, 2019. The Excel Awards honors those builders, commercial contractors, craftsman, Realtors®, on-site salespeople, public relations professionals, associate/supplier, media and advertising professionals who make major contributions to the residential home building and commercial construction. TV Home Source was nominated because they have a unique way of capturing stories behind the construction of new model homes and communities, and produces videos that give the consumer insight to the builders, their floorplans, decorating ideas, the latest information on technology within the home, green practices, landscaping and more. The specific video submitted for this award is a program that Lee County Building Industry Association (Lee BIA) is doing called BUILD MY FUTURE. Last year Lee BIA held an event in partnership with the Lee County Schools in order to bring students to a trade show where they could experience hands-on activities. The event was designed to help students get exposure to opportunities in the Trades. “We are very humbled by this award nomination. Telling people’s story is more than just my business; it’s my passion,” said Kathy Robinson Brugger, executive producer of TV Home Source and Florida Home Life. “The video that was nominated I hope will showcase the amazing opportunities our youth have to start a career in the skilled trades.” Statistics show that every day the shortage in the skilled trades becomes more acute. According to numbers from the National Electrical Contractors Association, 7,000 electricians join the field each year, but 10,000 retire. And as job openings continue to increase without new laborers to fill them, the situation could impact every element of home service: wait times, work quality and cost. An array of circumstances planted the seeds of the current trade shortage in the early 2000s. Several developments piled up to create the perfect storm that threatens to leave plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other skilled trades with a severe worker shortage in the years to come. Industry experts say the trades lost nearly a million skilled workers during the recession that have yet to be replaced, and as older workers retire, the crunch will get even tighter. Brugger also commented that “Being able to bring light to the skilled trades’ shortage through our videos we hope will create a pathway of interest to people entering the workforce.” Photo Identification: Kathy Robinson Brugger, executive producer of TV Home Source and Florida Home Life. It featured new construction, decorating, landscaping, and the hosts, Sheli and David, toured new homes and communities sharing their discoveries. Whether it was a unique floor plan, cool decorating idea or the latest information on Florida Friendly Landscape, they were there to help you do your research in an entertaining way. In 2006, TV Home Source adapted to the market by focusing on business documentary style videos that assisted buyers in learning facts about new homes. And by 2008 TVHS had a sister company MOV (Marketing Online Video) that could offer the same high-end production and creative storytelling to other businesses outside of the building industry. Today both companies still thrive. MOV is a full-service production company and TVHS still offers their expertise in the niche market of new homes and everything that comes with building a new home. Clients range from builders and developers to manufacturers as well as retail companies. Whether you want to reach the consumer or produce video for a B2B business model, TVHS and MOV are here to help.
