Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Offers Electrophysiology Service Line Contact Name: Kristina Sparacino Contact Email: kristina.sparacino@lwrmc.com Contact Phone Number: 3524272108 Bradenton, Florida – August 7th, 2019 – Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC) has launched a new Electrophysiology (EP) service line. The EP service line will offer patients new options for diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including 3D mapping and radiofrequency ablations. When someone’s heart doesn’t beat normally, doctors use EPS to find out why. During EPS, doctors insert a thin tube called a catheter into a blood vessel that leads to your heart. A specialized electrode catheter designed for EP studies lets them send electrical signals to your heart and record its electrical activity. Electrophysiology studies test the electrical activity of your heart to find where an arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) is coming from. These results can help you and your doctor decide whether you need medicine, a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), cardiac ablation or surgery.* Lyn Swan, Director Cardiovascular Services, added, “We are very excited to be able to offer these services to patients in the Lakewood Ranch Community. Now we can perform these specialized procedures right here in Lakewood Ranch instead of patients needing to leave their community for diagnosis and treatment.” ### About Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is the hospital of choice for many families in the Manatee/Sarasota region.
