Sarasota Chamber Partners with Technical Schools for Experience Engineering Luncheon SARASOTA, Fla. (November 19, 2019) — Over 120 students from area schools and 25 engineers from prominent local organizations gathered at the fifth annual Experience Engineering Luncheon, presented by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Sarasota County Schools Career and Technical Education. In addition to sharing their passion for engineering, engineers shared individualized insight into engineering as a career path and their experience in round table discussions with students. “The Experience Engineering Luncheon gets better every year… the students were engaged and asked great questions. Increasing the supply of future engineers both overall and with greater diversity will benefit all Sarasota businesses. Thank you to the Sarasota Chamber for helping raise awareness of the importance of technology with our local High School students,” commented Don Borden, Owner of Four Winds Network Services. The luncheon is one of several career exploration initiatives that the Chamber is partnering with Sarasota County Schools on. The next initiative will begin in February, addressing the workforce needs within the insurance industry by educating high schoolers on insurance as a career. ### About the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization that works to cultivate Sarasota's prosperity and quality of life through our member businesses, for more information please call (941) 955-8187 or visit us at www.sarasotachamber.com.
