Allegiant Private Advisors, an independent firm offering fiduciary-level financial planning and investment advisory services in Sarasota, Fla., announced that Benjamin W. Jones, CFP®, AIF®, has been named to Forbes’ Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors for 2020. The list is published on www.forbes.com.
According to Forbes, a leading financial publication, the ranking reflects the country’s top next-gen advisors who represent the future of the wealth management industry. List makers are determined based on select qualifications and advisors are rated based on a proprietary algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria: assets under management, revenues generated for their firm, client retention, industry experience, credentials, and compliance records.¹
“I’m honored to be recognized as a top ‘Next-Gen’ advisor by Forbes again this year. The Allegiant team remains focused on helping each client plan and navigate financial goals while also guiding the next generation within each family,” explains Jones, who serves as president, chief investment officer and is a principal of Allegiant.
“We’ve taken bold and meaningful action in advance of and throughout these challenging times on behalf of our clients, but just as important is the assistance we are providing their children and grandchildren. We prepare families for the transfer of wealth and carefully guide the next generation of investors—today’s hard-working professionals, business owners and growing families—through all aspects of their financial lives.”
Jones has been managing assets for private individuals, families, and charitable organizations for 15 years at Allegiant Private Advisors. Today he leads the firm’s 15-member team, manages the Investment Research Committee, is responsible for establishing the firm’s overall investment strategy, security selection, portfolio management, and oversees research activities.
Since joining Allegiant Private Advisors in 2005, Jones has been active in the community through local non-profit organizations and professional associations including the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, Young Leaders Alliance, the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Forty Carrots Family Center. He is an alumnus of Leadership Sarasota and in 2009, he was named to the prestigious 40 Under 40 list by the Gulf Coast Business Review, 3 now known as the Business Observer. He was also recognized on Forbes’ Next-Gen Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list in 2018 and 2019. Jones graduated from Bates College with a dual degree in Economics and East Asian Studies. He has earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation.

Overall, 3,480 advisors were considered, and 500 (14.4 percent of candidates) were recognized. Click here for the full methodology² Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research.
