With lead support from the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties provided more than 400 families in Arcadia with a complete holiday meal during a four-hour drive-thru food distribution event on December 23 at its Louis and Gloria Flanzer Boys & Girls Club.
"We were thrilled to be able to partner with the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust to provide local families with a warm holiday meal, especially during one of the most challenging years in recent history," said Tanya Orr, Regional Development Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. "We will always strive to be the safe, positive place that families can depend on."
Families from the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Boys & Girls Club, Arcadia Housing Authority, Redlands Christian Migrant Association, Casa San Juan Bosco and St. John Paul II Villas were invited to pick up a meal, which included a precooked turkey and sides including mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh green beans, canned corn, stuffing, dinner rolls and dessert.
“We are so proud to serve Arcadia, and so grateful for our community partners who helped make this event possible including the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Trust, Publix at Arcadia and the Arcadia Police Department,” said Orr.
