THE ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS SOUTHWEST FLORIDA CHAPTER ANNOUNCES ITS FEBRUARY 2021 PROGRAM Contact Name: Terri Medina Contact Email: terri.medina@lighthouseeducationcenter.org Contact Phone Number: 941-359-1404 SARASOTA, Fla. – Jan. 28, 2021 – The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP-SWFL), one of the most active chapters of professional fundraisers in the nation, offering members the opportunity to connect with colleagues, engage in creative thinking, network with new friends and achieve great results in their work, presents Moving Donors from Transaction to Loyalty on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 12:00pm. With the increasing frequency and popularity of Giving Days and online giving challenges, many organizations are seeing new donors make their first gift through these campaigns. These donors may have been solicited by a friend or board member, or may have been inspired by a challenge or matching opportunity. How do you properly steward and work to retain these donors, though, who may have viewed this as more of a transactional experience versus a true philanthropic experience? “Donor retention is a critical metric for any non-profit organization,” said Kevin Hughes, AFP-SWFL Board of Director and Program Moderator. “This session will explore best practices for retaining first-time donors, particularly those that may have viewed their first gift as more of a transactional experience versus a true philanthropic connection.” Please join our panelists Stu Manewith and Bailey Benzle, with Omatic Software, and Steven Shattuck with Bloomerang as they share tips to effectively steward and engage dooors so that this first gift is just the beginning of their philanthropic relationship with your organization. Cost: $10 for AFP members, $15 for nonmembers.
