An integral component of the Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, the charity event brought 100 golfers to raise financial support for the Rangers and families of the 75th Ranger Regiment. Over 35 SMA JROTC cadets were on-hand to unfurl a 40’x60’ US flag as the SMA Choir sang the National Anthem and 3 Special Operations Command paratroopers deployed from 5,000 feet to a perfect landing on the grounds of The Founders Golf Club. “Our SMA Cadets demonstrate respect for our Nation’s flag and adhere to the values inherent in the military code of conduct every day—today was no different. I applaud their sense of duty and honor as they represented SMA among the many golfers, guests and families at this special event,” exclaimed SMA COL Christina Bowman, executive director of schools at SMA. Besides the day’s golf awards, the evening’s ceremony counted with the SMA Color Guard presenting the regimental colors and a 10th grade cadet on the bugle. Remarks were made by the Army Ranger Lead the Way co-founder and Chairman & CEO, James P. Regan and longtime former coach, football player and college football analyst, Lou Holtz.
