Gecko’s Hospitality Group Celebrates Sarasota’s Centennial with Custom Big Top Craft Beer GHG’s Centennial Lager to benefit Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Charitable Foundation Contact Name: Anne Rollings Contact Email: office@geckoshospitality.com Contact Phone Number: 4045474100 The Gecko’s Hospitality Group family of restaurants is teaming with Big Top Brewing to help celebrate Sarasota’s Centennial this year with a limited time special beer, Gecko’s Hospitality Group’s Centennial Lager. Gecko’s Centennial Lager is brewed and distributed locally by Big Top Brewing Company and has an appealing taste profile. Jose Martinez, head brewer at Big Top describes the beer as, “A smooth, refreshing and crisp lager with a noble aroma on the nose. Our Lager is single hopped with locally-sourced hops and a light mouth feel.” Gecko’s customized the lager with a light pink grapefruit infusion as a tip-o- the-hat to Sarasota’s agricultural legacy. With a custom designed label by Fluid Graphics representing Sarasota’s heritage as well as images from some of GHG owners Mike Gowan and Mike Quillen’s personal journey growing up in Sarasota, the summer brew is at once flavorful and refreshing and is sure to quench the thirst of the traditional beer lovers and crafties alike. Another feature of GHG’s Centennial Lager is its philanthropic component. Gowan stated that, “Gecko’s has designated what we think is a perfect fit for our Centennial Lager to at once celebrate our hometown and demonstrate our commitment to giving back to our community.” Adds Quillen, “ As the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is also celebrating 100 years, to show our appreciation for GHG’s partnership with the Sheriff’s Office and as an active way to demonstrate the respect and support we hold for our law enforcement who have provided the invisible shield to keep our families and our community safe for a century, a portion of every GHG Centennial Lager enjoyed by our guests will be donated to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Charitable Foundation.” The mission of the Foundation, a 5013(c), is to provide crisis grants in support of law enforcement who are experiencing extraordinary need. The first batch of GHG’s Centennial Lager will be available on June 7 and can be enjoyed when you dine in at any of the Gecko’s Hospitality Group’s family of restaurants, at select Centennial celebration events throughout the County and in six packs through GHG’s Alcohol To Go program. Gecko’s Hospitality Group is locally owned and operated and employs over 600 Floridians. Since 1992, Gecko’s Grill & Pub’s has created steady economic stimulus, generating thousands of first-time jobs and launching the careers of hospitality professionals. GHG has been consistently awarded “Best Of” in numerous categories and partners to serve countless schools and philanthropies. Gowan and Quillen’s Longboat Key gem, Dry Dock Waterfront Grill joined GHG in 2015 and in 2016, GHG welcomed Dockside Waterfront Grill in Venice to the GHG family. In February, 2021 Tripletail Seafood & Spirits became the newest restaurant sibling in the GHG family. These nine restaurants along with the legendary tavern, Red Barn Bar, fortify the GHG’s mission to provide exceptional hospitality, fresh locally sourced fare with a gourmet twist and a menu that is accessible to everyone.
