JFCS Clinical Staff Acquires Advanced Training in Trauma Treatment Methodologies Contact Name: Nicole Brown Contact Email: NBrown@JFCS-Cares.org Contact Phone Number: 9412810520 Clinical staff in the Mental Health Counseling Department at JFCS of the Suncoast have acquired advanced training in trauma informed treatment methodologies that will allow them to provide enhanced mental health support to their clients. Patrick Odell, Wraparound Facilitator and Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, and Sharon Caldwell, Wraparound Facilitator for the Voluntary Interim Placement – Enhanced Recovery program, completed their certification in Trauma and Resilience Interventions. Christine Emens, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, completed Accelerated Resolution Therapy training. The clinical staff are also skilled at providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as a treatment for trauma. “JFCS staff continues to enhance and expand their clinical expertise. We are proud to say that JFCS is a trauma informed and client centered agency that offers the most current methodologies to assist clients in their journeys to wellbeing, wholeness and health,” stated Dr. Stacy Lang, Chief of Behavioral Health Services. JFCS provides confidential mental health counseling to individuals on a sliding pay scale for depression, anger management, anxiety, behavioral disorders, parenting, bereavement, marital challenges, outpatient substance abuse, divorce and blended families issues, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, retirement transition, stress reduction, physical, mental and/or or emotional abuse survival and gender equality. About the Voluntary Interim Placement – Enhanced Recovery Program The Voluntary Interim Placement – Enhanced Recovery Program, also known as VIP-ER, is a partnership among JFCS, The Salvation Army of Sarasota County, First Step of Sarasota, the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County, Suncoast Technical College and The Haven to provide support to individuals struggling with substance abuse and related issues through a long-term residential substance abuse treatment program located at The Salvation Army’s Center of Hope.
