Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) has awarded The Venice Symphony a $30,000 Arts Appreciation Grant to provide core support for its 2021-22 concert season. This grant will help fund the full concert season which begins November 19, 2021 at the Venice Performing Arts Center, and support The Symphony’s new fundraising event, Brunch with Beethoven on November 14, 2021.
“Throughout this challenging time, Gulf Coast Community Foundation has continued to support the arts and The Venice Symphony,” said President and CEO Christine Kasten. “Last season when we were unable to perform live, Gulf Coast generously provided funding for our free virtual concert series, allowing us to stay connected to our patrons and to share the Symphony with thousands of people around the world. Now, as we return to the concert hall, this grant allows The Symphony to bring renowned guest artists to our community and to reach more area students with our music education programs.”
Founded in 1974, The Venice Symphony is a 501(c)(3) professional orchestra deeply rooted in its community, offering a variety of concerts from November through May, special events and long-standing music education programs for all ages throughout the year. The orchestra is led by Music Director/Conductor Troy Quinn. Learn more at thevenicesymphony.org.
Together with its donors, Gulf Coast Community Foundation transforms our region through bold and proactive philanthropy. Gulf Coast is a public charity that was created in 1995 through the sale of the Venice Hospital. Since then, Gulf Coast has become the philanthropic home of nearly 1,000 individuals, families, businesses, and organizations that have established charitable funds here. Together, GCCF has invested over $400 million in grants in health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment. Learn more at GulfCoastCF.org.
