The funds will help the 92-year-old community theatre continue its mission of entertaining, educating, and engaging the community through high-quality live theatre. The Players Centre is presenting a diverse array of productions this season, utilizing smaller casts due to Covid-19 precautions. Themes range from creating a musical to the AIDS epidemic, 60s female powerhouse vocalists to Rodgers and Hammerstein classics. The Players Centre has a long relationship with The Exchange. Dedicated to the ongoing success of The Players Centre, which was founded in 1929, The Exchange (formerly the Woman’s Exchange) first began providing operating funds to The Players Theatre back in 1969, awarding a cumulative amount of $563,258. For most of The Players Centre’s existence, The Exchange has been a proud and faithful supporter. Funds were awarded retroactively after the pandemic when it was announced they were presenting $250,000 in grants and scholarships for the 2021-22 season. ?
