A Symphony of Superheroes in Venice The Venice Symphony Presents Superheroes and Schumann Contact Name: Sharyn Lonsdale Contact Email: slonsdale@thevenicesymphony.org Contact Phone Number: 9412078822 After a sold-out concert weekend with A Night at the Oscars, The Venice Symphony presents Superheroes and Schumann, 7:30 pm, February 25 and 3:30 pm, February 26 at the Venice Performing Arts Center (VPAC). Music Director Troy Quinn will lead the orchestra in a program that will appeal to all with music from the Marvel and DC Universe and Robert Schumann’s epic and romantic Symphony No. 4 in D Minor, featuring Concertmaster Marcus Ratzenboeck. Quinn, who is known for his innovative programming, said, “I thought the marriage of superheroes like Batman and Captain America, combined with a heroic piece and superhuman pianist/composer Schumann, would make for an interesting pairing.” Other composers featured in the program include Jean Sibelius, Danny Elfman, Alan Silvestri and John Williams. Tickets are also available for The Symphony’s Game of Romes (March 18-19), Fantasy, Firebird and Fabiola featuring renowned violinist Fabiola Kim (April 22-23) and a special event, Songs from the Stage and Screen with Broadway star Linda Eder (May 6-7), all at the VPAC. The Symphony will offer its free Meet the Maestro Pre-Concert Talks at 6:30 pm before the evening concert and 2:30 pm before the afternoon concert.
