Contact Name: Rebekah Prieto Contact Email: rprieto@parentingmattersfl.org Contact Phone Number: (941) 756-3007 ext 288 The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded Parenting Matters $7,500 through their Parent Leadership Grant cycle. In alignment with the 2Gen (twogenerations) Approach of holistically focusing on children and the adults in their lives, this funding aims to ensure parents' perspectives and expertise are interwoven into an organization's programs and organizational development. This grant will allow Parenting Matters to host two Parent Leadership Gatherings for current and former Parenting Matters clients - one in English and one in Spanish. Gatherings will provide a platform for parents to share their experiences with Parenting Matters services and offer recommendations for improvement. This parent perspective data is vital to the continued growth of the organization, and all input will be used to inform decision-making. These gatherings will also serve as an entry point for deeper parent engagement and leadership opportunities within the organization. Parenting Matters, formerly the Family Partnership Center, was founded in 1994 with a central goal - to advance the lives of children, together, with their parents. Children are the future and the key to creating a stronger community. They deserve a safe, nurturing childhood, giving them a sense of worth, the ability to thrive, and a purpose for life. Parenting is the single most powerful way to change the future. With support - including the right tools and strategies - paired with the opportunity to learn and grow, we can help parents transform their families for generations.
