About

Bridge a Life is a nonprofit organization serving children and families across Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties in Florida. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered hope for children with relational trauma through awareness and family support, with a vision that children are loved in fully-equipped families, bringing about healing and generational change. 

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience a safe, loving, and supportive childhood, and every caregiver deserves a community equipped to walk alongside them. Through trauma-informed training, caregiver coaching and support, meal delivery, financial assistance, home projects, and community-building opportunities, we strengthen foster, adoptive, and kinship caregivers. We also support families in the prevention space, primarily through implementing CarePortal.

Bridge a Life works collaboratively with churches, businesses, schools, nonprofits, child welfare agencies, and community volunteers to identify unmet needs, build meaningful partnerships, and provide practical support that helps families thrive. We believe that when caregivers are supported and equipped, children with difficult histories have a greater opportunity to heal, grow, and simply be kids.

Our commitment to hope extends beyond our local community through our global outreach, Ayinza. In Mpongo, Uganda we are working alongside local partners to strengthen the family unit through community development. We are accomplishing this through clean water initiatives, a coffee cooperative, school lunch program, child sponsorship, hygiene training, spiritual outreach, and more. This work reflects the same belief that guides our efforts at home: when people have the support they need, hope has room to grow.

We seek to connect people, resources, and opportunities so families are not left to navigate difficult circumstances alone. Through Christ-centered relationships and a community willing to come alongside them, we strive to create lasting change for children, families, and future generations.
