About

Family Promise of South Sarasota County (FPSSC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending family homelessness in our local communities. Since our founding in 2015, we have served hundreds of families with children by offering holistic, compassionate support that helps them achieve lasting stability. We serve the communities of Venice, North Port, Nokomis, Englewood, and Osprey, addressing the root causes of homelessness through a combination of emergency shelter, rental assistance, housing-focused case management, and connections to critical resources.

Our primary programs include Bridge Housing, which offers temporary shelter and intensive support for families working toward long-term housing; Open Doors, which provides rent and move-in assistance to prevent homelessness; and Pathways Home, a follow-up support program ensuring continued success after exiting our services to maintain stablization. We prioritize individualized case plans, financial literacy, employment support, and family-centered care. The majority of our clients are working parents who simply need temporary assistance to get back on their feet.

Our organization believes that every child deserves a safe place to sleep, and every family deserves a chance to thrive. Through community partnerships, dedicated volunteers, and donor support, we offer more than shelter—we offer hope.
