Sarasota Contemporary Dance (SCD) is a professional dance company dedicated to presenting bold, innovative contemporary dance of the highest artistic caliber through performances, educational programs, and interdisciplinary collaborations throughout Sarasota, Florida, and beyond.

For more than 20 years, SCD has served as a cultural cornerstone of the region's artistic community. Located in the heart of Sarasota's historic Rosemary District, the company shares its home studio with the community through year-round artistic, educational, and performance programming. During the 2026–2027 season, SCD will present 16 in-studio performances in its state-of-the-art, 1,000+ square-foot black box performance venue.

Recognized as a premier training ground for contemporary dance in the region, SCD offers more than 15 weekly classes, three pre-professional summer intensives, workshops, master classes, and is home to the Sarasota Contemporary Dance Ensemble (SCDE), the company's pre-professional training ensemble that prepares aspiring dancers for collegiate and professional careers.

Founded in 2002 as Fuzión Dance Artists Sarasota's first contemporary dance company by Co-Founders Leymis Bolaños Wilmott and Rachael Inman, the organization was renamed Sarasota Contemporary Dance in 2015. Now entering its 21st season, SCD continues to enrich the community through dynamic performances, meaningful arts education, and collaborative partnerships that connect artists and audiences while celebrating the transformative power of contemporary dance.
