Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Clinical Education Field Experience Coordinator at State College of Florida plays a critical role in supporting SCF's Educator Preparation Institute (EPI), Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs. This position is responsible for designing, communicating, evaluating, and continually improving all K-12 field experience systems and placements to ensure alignment with Florida Department of Education requirements, state statutes, and SCF's commitment to preparing highly effective educators. The Coordinator serves as the liaison between SCF and regional school district partners to ensure successful, standards-based clinical placements.
Initial Rank and Salary will be determined at the time of offer.
This is a Full-Time Faculty position, with a $1,000 stipend with 6ILH release time to be paid over the summer. The role requires a commitment of 20 days of availability during the summer period.

Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
• Ensure students receive clear, consistent communication and instruction about all field experience types, practicum, final internship, demonstration of mastery, and specialized placements (e.g., Reading, ESOL, ESE)-and develop materials to clarify expectations and distinctions among these stages.
• Coordinate clinical field placements for SCF education students, including practicum, internship, and demonstration of mastery experiences.
• Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with Manatee, Sarasota, and surrounding district schools, as well as charter and private institutions.
• Match students with certified, clinically trained mentor teachers in appropriate certification areas.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs), Reading Competencies, and relevant course and certification standards.
• Organize and facilitate pre-service student orientations and field placement briefings.
• Support students in completing all required compliance documentation, including background checks and fingerprinting.
• Maintain accurate, confidential placement records using the designated tracking system.
• Collaborate with program faculty and Clinical Educator Trainers (CETs) to support student success and timely documentation of field experience milestones.
• Contribute to program quality improvement through data collection, reporting, and alignment for curriculum review, Board of Trustees reports, and state program approval.
• Assist with educator preparation program reporting, including EPI Annual Reports, FLDOE compliance audits, and accreditation requirements.
• Provide regular updates to the Dean of Nursing and Education in coordination with the Department Chair.
• Support students' understanding of the field experience process through timely guidance, documentation, and individualized support.
• In collaboration with the Education Department, develop and maintain a Clinical Educator Trainers (CETs) Training and Recognition Program.
• Develop and maintain an Early Alert and Academic Coaching System for education students.
• Maintain Field Experience and Compliance Policies and Procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Design and maintain transparent, student-facing systems for managing placements, timelines, and compliance documentation.
• Evaluate placement systems and protocols using student feedback, placement outcomes, and partner input to improve clarity and accessibility.
• Align placement systems with evolving program structures, state requirements, and community partner needs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for students regarding field experience expectations and placement logistics.
• Provide accessible communication and documentation explaining differences between field experiences, including timelines, compliance steps, and responsibilities.
• Conduct informational sessions and workshops (in-person or virtual) to prepare students for field experiences and professional expectations.
• Develop and distribute student-facing resources such as field experience handbooks, orientation materials, and FAQs.
• Maintain and update formal policies and procedures related to field placements and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Education Department leadership to ensure consistency between policies, advising, and program expectations.
• Implement and analyze periodic surveys and reflections from students and mentor teachers to assess placement quality and guide continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications

• Education/Experience:
Degree and credit hour requirements must be met in accordance with the criteria for accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and specific program accreditation requirements. Master's degree in education or related field from a regionally accredited institution and at least three years of K-12 instructional experience required. Must have experience in clinical education with students in the clinical environment. Knowledge of teacher preparation standards, clinical education models, and effective instructional practices is required.
• Relevant Experience:
Preferred qualifications include experience in postsecondary educator preparation; familiarity with Florida Reading, ESOL, ESE, and EPI requirements; and knowledge of FLDOE approval, compliance, and credentialing processes. Also preferred are skills in using student tracking systems (e.g., Project Concert), managing equitable placements, and collaborating with diverse partners, including district HR and school administrators, as well as an understanding of regional education settings across public, charter, and alternative schools.

This position will have routine contact with the academic community, multiple school district placement systems, clinical agencies, and accreditation agencies.
