Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties Welcomes New Board, Foundation Board Members
Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC) is proud to welcome new members to its Board of Directors and Foundation Board. “We are honored to welcome these accomplished leaders to our Boards,” said Bill Sadlo, President/CEO of BGCSDC. “Their commitment to young people and the experience they bring will enhance our organization’s ability to deliver life-changing programs and opportunities to youth across Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We are grateful for their service to help guide our work so that even more of our community’s future leaders can reach their full potential.” To support this work, the Board of Directors provides governance, strategic direction, and operational oversight, while the Foundation Board focuses on ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of BGCSDC. New Board members include David Barcomb, Veronica Brady, Dr. Megan Green, Dave Norton, Pete Powers and Kelvin Womack. Blake Gratton, Brock Gratton, Judy Kozlowski, Willy Murgolo and Kendall Peacock have joined the BGCSDC Foundation Board. The newly appointed members bring decades of combined experience across education, finance, philanthropy, human resources, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, all areas of expertise that will help propel BGCSDC’s mission for generations to come. Board of Directors David Barcomb An accomplished wealth management executive, Barcomb brings more than 30 years of experience building one of the nation’s most successful practices within Merrill Lynch’s Private Client Group. Recognized multiple times by Forbes and Barron’s for excellence in client service, leadership, and investment performance, he is known for his client-centric approach and disciplined investment management. Barcomb has served as a Managing Director and Wealth Management Advisor in Boston, MA, and Sarasota, FL. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Veronica Brady A longtime champion for philanthropy in the Sarasota community, Brady spent 25 years with SunTrust before serving as Senior Vice President for Philanthropy at Gulf Coast Community Foundation, where she led significant growth in funds, gifts, and donor engagement. She later served as Director of Advancement at The Bay Park Conservancy, helping raise the initial $25 million for the new public park on Sarasota Bay. Through V Brady Consulting, she advises nonprofits and donors on strategic charitable giving and organizational development, continuing her deep commitment to causes that support children and education. As Chief of Secondary Education for Sarasota County Schools, she oversees middle and high school education across the district. She holds a Doctorate in Education with a focus in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University and is deeply committed to student achievement and equity in education. Dave Norton Norton brings more than 40 years of human resources leadership experience. He previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer at People’s United Bank and has held chief HR roles at Frito-Lay (a division of PepsiCo), Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and The New York Times. As CEO of Norton HR Consulting, he advises organizations on talent strategy, culture, and leadership development. Pete Powers Powers brings extensive experience in manufacturing and engineering, particularly in plastic container production. Over the course of his career, he grew his own company from 15 to more than 250 employees across three manufacturing locations before successfully selling it to a public competitor. Earlier in his career, he held engineering roles with Standard Brands Chemicals, Chattanooga Glass Company, and Johnson & Johnson Baby Products. Powers holds both a BSEE and MBA degree and is active on for-profit and nonprofit boards in the Sarasota community. Kelvin Womack A retired consulting executive, Womack offers more than 30 years of leadership experience in technology and human capital consulting, including senior roles at Deloitte Consulting and KPMG Consulting. At Deloitte, he led major federal healthcare and leadership consulting practices, advising senior executives on strategy and transformation. He later served as a Vice President at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Womack holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree from Webster University and remains active in mentoring and board service in retirement. Foundation Board Blake Gratton Blake Gratton is a local entrepreneur who co-founded SpringWell Water Filtration and helped grow it into a $100 million-plus national brand before its $105 million sale to Fortune Brands Innovations, parent company of Moen. Before their success with SpringWell, Blake and his brother launched nearly 100 startups, demonstrating persistence, resilience, and a passion for innovation. He frequently shares insights with aspiring entrepreneurs and community leaders. Brock Gratton Alongside his brother Blake, Brock Gratton built SpringWell Water Filtration into an industry leader known for quality and customer trust. Their entrepreneurial journey, marked by experimentation, risktaking, and determination, has made them respected voices in the regional business community and mentors to emerging innovators. Judy Kozlowski Originally from Massachusetts, Kozlowski enjoyed a more than 30-year career as an independent real estate broker. She served as Past President of the Punta Gorda / Port Charlotte / North Port Association of Realtors and its MLS. An active community volunteer, she invests her time in initiatives that promote positive youth development, provide compassionate end-of-life care, expand support for individuals with special needs, and strengthen community-based outreach efforts. Willy Murgolo Murgolo retired from Boar’s Head Provision Co. after a 51-year career, including more than 35 years on the executive team and serving as Senior Vice President of Business Development. He held leadership roles across distribution, plant management, sales, customer service, finance, and product development, overseeing product innovation, quality assurance, and cross-functional operations. His strategic guidance helped launch new product categories and support long-term company growth. Since retiring, he continues to mentor employees and distributors while contributing to leadership development and organizational initiatives. Kendall Peacock Peacock serves as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Caldwell Trust Company. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Louisville, he previously spent 15 years as a portfolio manager at Northern Trust and SunTrust. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations and is a past President of the CFA Society of Tampa Bay.
