Introducing Our Newest Team Member – Leamarie Mattia

The WEG Atlas Team (Sarasota, FL and Oakland, NJ) (June 5, 2025) — We’re thrilled to welcome Leamarie Mattia to the Sarasota office of the Atlas Team! Lea is a recent graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a BA in Business Administration with minors in Wealth Management and Economics. Her passion for analytical work, relationship-building, and helping others led her to pursue a career in financial planning.

While at UF, Lea was actively involved in the UF Honors Program, International Scholars Program, Dance Marathon, and Kappa Kappa Gamma, where she honed her leadership and interpersonal skills. Through the UF Wealth Management program, she passed the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, completed the coursework required to sit for the CFP® exam, and built strong connections within the financial planning community. She is currently preparing to sit for the CFP® exam this November.

Lea began her internship with Wealth Enhancement in July 2024 and is excited to continue her journey full-time as a Financial Planning Assistant, reporting to Alison Hall, CFP | VP Financial Planning. Lea’s commitment to comprehensive planning, client well-being, and fiduciary responsibility aligns perfectly with Atlas-WEG’s values.

This addition brings the number of women in our Sarasota office to four, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting women in financial services and their clients.

That commitment is deeply inspired by Dr. Laura Mattia, Lea’s mother. As a professor and advocate, Dr. Mattia has championed women in financial services through her academic roles at Rutgers and USF, where she mentored aspiring professionals, established/funded a scholarship, and authored Gender on Wall Street: Uncovering Opportunities for Women in Financial Services. Recently she also coauthored two more academic articles: Why Are There So Few Women in the Financial Services Industry? (Journal of Financial Planning) and What Motivates Female Financial Advisors? (Journal of Wealth Management).

In this spirit, WEG is committed to advancing women in financial services—and the Atlas Team, Sarasota office is embracing this mission wholeheartedly.
