JFCS of the Suncoast Receives CARF Accreditation

JFCS of the Suncoast is proud to announce its accreditation through 2028 by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body for health and human services organizations.  Receiving accreditation means that JFCS has met CARF’s rigorous standards for quality, safety and service to vulnerable populations.

JFCS programs receiving accreditation include its Counseling department and its Operation Military Assistance Program (OMAP).  OMAP provides housing assistance and supportive services for veterans experiencing homelessness in six counties along Florida’s Suncoast.  JFCS’ Counseling department includes programs for children, youth, adults and seniors.  CARF surveyors spent three days in June at JFCS offices, interviewing staff and clients, reviewing policies and procedures, and examining client files.

“JFCS staff have worked for more than a year to prepare for the CARF accreditation process, and we are so proud of their hard work,” states JFCS’ Vice President of Operations, Lucia Branton. “Being recognized by CARF means that we are achieving the highest levels of service for those we serve.”
