Sarasota, FL – January 9, 2026 – Resurrection House,a faith-based nonprofit providing essential day-resource services to homeless individuals in Sarasota and Manatee counties, has been awarded a $15,000 Capacity Building Grant from from the James Franklin Warnell & Dorothy J. Amid economic uncertainty and rising homelessness driven by housing affordability challenges in Sarasota County, the grant will increase Resurrection House’s development capacity to seek more grant support, deepen donor relationships, and grow its community outreach. By building a more robust development program, Resurrection House aims to diversify revenue streams, expand services for vulnerable populations, and contribute to broader poverty alleviation efforts.
"With needs outpacing resources, this grant empowers us to further professionalize our development efforts” said Joe Reuth Executive Director at Resurrection House. "We see the upcoming Giving Challenge as a great opportunity for the community to provide critical resources to better help homeless individuals achieve stability and dignity” Joe added.
