On September 10, 2025, Team Tony Cancer Foundation will celebrate 15 years of walking alongside cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers on Florida’s Suncoast. Founded in 2010 by brain cancer survivor and local cyclist Tony McEachern and fellow survivor Lori Kayser, the organization has grown into a lifeline for thousands navigating the overwhelming realities of cancer.

What began as two survivors’ vision to create connection and hope has become a thriving community of peer mentors, caregivers, and supporters. Over the past 15 years, Team Tony has:

* Matched hundreds of newly diagnosed cancer fighters with trained volunteer Teammates who have walked a similar path.

* Provided more than $380,000 in direct financial assistance to help families cover treatment-related costs such as travel, medications, and supportive care.

* Offered year-round wellness workshops, caregiver coffees, meditation groups, and resources through its warm Cancer Connection Center in Sarasota.

“Fifteen years ago, Team Tony was just an idea born out of our own need for connection,” said Tony McEachern, Founder. “Today, it’s a circle of care where no one has to walk through cancer alone. That’s only possible because of our generous community who’ve believed in this work from the beginning.”

Lori Kayser, Cofounder, said: “When Tony and I began this work, we simply wanted to make sure no one else felt alone in their journey. Fifteen years later, I look around and see hundreds of lives touched—not because of us, but because this community has shown up with generosity and heart. Every donor, every volunteer, every person who has said, ‘You don’t have to go through this alone,’ has built this foundation with us.”
